Smart glasses alone won’t replace your phone.
They’re brilliant as sensors and displays—but cramming full compute, battery, and connectivity into your frames adds weight, heat, and privacy trade-offs. Our answer is a secure, screenless companion device that acts as the local brain. The glasses are just the eyes and ears.
Two approaches to the same future
Aspect | All-in-one Glasses | PrivateAI One + Glasses |
---|---|---|
Comfort & weight | Battery & heat live on your face | Compute off-head → lighter frames |
Battery life | Limited by tiny cells | Extended via pocket device |
Privacy posture | Often cloud-tethered | Local-first; offline capable |
Upgradability | Replace the whole headset | Swap glasses or device independently |
How it works
- Glasses capture audio/video and provide micro-display + mics.
- PrivateAI One (screenless unit) runs local models & apps.
- Optional network features are end-to-end encrypted and opt-in.
FAQ
Does it work offline?
Yes. Core features run entirely on-device: wake word, voice interactions, local models, and private outputs via display/audio/haptics.
Can it go online for live info and RAG?
Yes—only when you choose. Enable the optional online mode to securely fetch up-to-date information and use Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). All traffic is encrypted and strictly opt-in.
What happens to my data in online mode?
Your device decides what to send. Requests are minimal and encrypted; local storage remains local. You can disable online features at any time.
Which glasses are compatible?
Any frames that expose compatible audio/video/display I/O. We prioritize lightweight comfort over cramming compute into your face.
